Ah, here we are in the throws of winter.  It seems more than ever there’s snow and more snow.  With all the cold temps and blistering winds, I feel like my skin is taking a beating.  It’s dry, red and blotchy.  But, I’ve found a cure.

Needless to say, I’ve been spending a lot of time held up at home this winter.  Warm baths, roaring fires and the perfect excuse for an “at home” facial.

This at home facial is a must have for any gal looking for some relief.

I found this brand through Birchbox.  It was highly rated so I decided to give it a whirl. This mask is called “I need to heal.”  Sounds like just what I need.   The cloth sheets are infused with aloe leaf juice and cucumber extract as well as other hydrating ingredients.  It is exactly what it sounds like, a sheet.  It’s cut to form your face with cutouts for the eyes, nose and mouth.  Think Jason in Friday the 13th :)

Well let me tell you.  I put that mask on, soaked in the tub and 20 minutes later, my face felt like a newborns bottom.  Smooth, soft and most importantly hydrated.  To get the most out of the ingredients, they recommend rubbing the remaining liquid into your skin after you remove the mask.

A box of 6 will run you $55, not so bad if you compare it to a visit to the spa.  They also offer a firming mask.  That’s next up on my list.
