Hey there, hope your week is going well! I’m staying in bed this morning to hopefully knock out my cold that decided to show up over the weekend, once and for all.  The one excitement about coming back to the city from a weekend at the beach was having this package waiting at my apt! (P.S, took these photos after work last night..not the greatest quality)

Paula’s Choice is a website that offers top-notch skincare products for every skin type possible.  I’m telling you, there is something on this website for everyone.  I can’t remember how I originally found PC (I think a beauty YouTuber I follow mentioned it), but all I can tell you now is that this the SECOND time I’ve ordered this skincare kit, and the fact that I even reordered says it all.

I didn’t finish the entire kit at once, so for the last few months I’ve been using PC day moisturizer SPF 50, the night cream, and the cleanser while I’ve been playing around with other serums (Vit C) and toners, since I ran out of those first.  Playing around has been fun, but nothing has gotten my skin to feel clear, glowy, and bright quite like having a full routine has, hence the repurchasing of this kit.

My skin is SUPER, super sensitive.  Every time I use a new product, I have to hold my breath and hope that I don’t break out from it.  So, the fact that this skincare kit caused no irritation, breakouts, or redness to happen to my skin was a big relief for me.  I have friends that are genetically blessed with good skin, and unfortunately I don’t have that same luck.  The only thing that really works at keeping my skin look great is a r o u t i n e.

So, with that said, I am not so much pushing Paula’s Choice on you (because I have used a lot of other kits in the past that worked just fine!), but I do highly recommend that if you’re not on a routine, you start one now.

This Skin Balancing Kit for Enlarged Pores & Breakouts is on the extensive side.  You can definitely have a skincare routine that stops at a cleanser, toner, serum and moisturizer, but this kit takes it one step further.

1. Skin Balancing Oil-Reducing Cleanser.

2. Skin Balancing Pore Reducing Toner

3. Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid

4. Skin Balancing Antioxidant Serum with Retinol

5. Ultra Sheer Daily Defense Moisturizer SPF 30

6.  Invisible Finish Moisture Gel

7. Skin Balancing Oil Absorbing Mask

PC even sends over stickers to put on your products, so that you are not constantly trying to remember the order in which you apply the products.

Directions & descriptions of each product come in the package as well.

I just love these products! I bet you’re looking at this thinking “Holy crap this is a lot of work”, and it totally is.  I can remember using ProActiv for all of 5 days in high school because I was like “WHY DOES THIS HAVE SO MANY STEPS?”, and of course as a teenager, that was too much of a hassle.  I won’t lie, a 5 step routine is a bit much, but it takes an extra 5 minutes out of your day..and the result is beautiful skin!

I never go into any skincare product blindly, and neither should you.  I do extensive research online and read many, many customer reviews to know exactly what I am getting into.  I find that most sales associates at Sephora or Ulta don’t guide me in the right direction, so I always do my research first and then head to the store knowing exactly what I need!

If your concern is acne, look for an acne kit (oh, duh).  If your concern is dull, uneven skin, look for a brightening kit.  If your concern is wrinkles, look for an anti-aging kit.  You get the drill.  If you’re not up for a full routine, at least always be sure to take your makeup off before bed!  On my laziest of nights I will use a makeup wipe and cleanser before passing out (because after a few glasses of wine I have no energy for steps 2-5).   Take care of your skin, chicas!
