Most know that I’m an equal opportunity shopper. It’s been said that I just like to buy things, but that’s not the case. If I have the extra cash, I like to buy things for people that make them happy and that they would not ordinarily purchase themselves.
Now to my Fashion Friday for your bedroom, just like my post on Fashion & your Man, we women seem to neglect our man’s input in the bedroom. We use florals, pastels, girly accouterments and truly anything to make it “our space.” Sure, our partners get a much deserved small portion of the dresser space, but what if they were as eager to get to bed as you are?!? Let’s think about it, how excited can anyone get in paisley sheets? Apparently, I am guilty of this as well. I am a fan of all white, especially a billowy down comforter. I think it’s inviting, clean and matches anything else you might have in the room. Well, after a few years of being together, Mark finally tells me he doesn’t like it. What?!? So I did what any good girlfriend would do, I took action. Aimed with my computer and daily sales it finally appeared on HauteLook. 650 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets in white with a fashionable (for me) duvet in grey (for him). If you don’t know anything about sheet thread count, let me quickly fill you in. The higher the count, the better the quality as it means more threads per inch. I made the mistake of buying Walmart sheets in a pinch once for Chloe. Needless to say, they ended up in the garbage because it was like sleeping on a shower curtain!
The day has arrived, my new SXY sheets! Yes, a bargain for a King sized bed worth just about $1,000, I got them for a sweet $350. I quickly wash them, remake the bed and await a response. As I wasn’t home, I get an excited phone call about how great the bed looks and how comfortable the sheets are. Yes! Everyone is happy!!!
Fashion in the bedroom is for all! It’s our sanctuary whether man or woman, the place we retire at the end of a long day. It deserves as much, if not more attention that any other room.
