So, we know that I like the term “K.I.S.S.”, right? “Keep it simple, stupid”. Again, one of the many mantras that I have to repeat to myself often enough. It’s a given that from time to time we all fall off the wagon a little bit and need to give ourselves a swift kick in the butt to get back in charge of our bodies. Instead of thinking of restricting ourselves to some insane diet, we should be turning to the small changes we can make on a day-to-day basis that will inevitably make the pounds drop and the abs pop. And so we have..
1. Avoid any added sugar or salt to your meals and drinks. I for one NEVER (probably the only time I can use the term “NEVER” and not be full of BS) add salt to my food, however I am definitely guilty of being a caffeine addict and adding sugars to my morning coffee. I usually allow myself one coffee a day with the works (milk and sugar), but when I am really trying to cut down I have my coffee with either a splash of almond milk or a teaspoon of coconut oil. Also if you can, switch to green tea or an herbal tea to boost your metabolism.
2. Eat veggies at every meal. Vegggggieeeess, heyo. I do love them, so that helps. At breakfast, throw veggies in your omelet or have a green smoothie. At lunch, have a leafy and raw-veggie filled salad. At dinner, make your plate with at least 1/2 of it being veg. They’ll fill you up much more than you think possible. I like to sauté my veggies in coconut oil for some added flavor.
3. Switch to egg whites (1 whole egg allowed) at breakfast. You’re an egg lover, I’m an egg lover. Hell, if I had to survive off of runny eggs and toast I would be a happy survivor. But unfortunately that’s not an everyday thing for me. I mostly have 3 egg white/1 egg and spinach omelets for breakfast, with 1 piece of buttered Ezekial toast. Eggs have great cholesterol, but just one! Egg whites are a complete protein that will keep your belly feeling nice and flat.
4. Don’t give up desserts, just make it a healthy one. Man, do I love yogurt bowls. I love them for breakfast, I love them for a snack, and I especially love them for dessert. Mine usually consist of Fage 2% yogurt, cinnamon, blueberries, raspberries and CHOCOLATE granola. Yeeeah, there’s that key component to making it dessert. This is where I get my chocoholic fix.
Don’t forget to also drinks TONS of water throughout your day! Great for your energy, great for your skin, and great for tricking your body into thinking it’s full
Have a great day.
