• 8 oz Silk Dark Chocolate Almond Milk
  • 1 whole banana
  • 4 tablespoons chia seeds
  • *optional scoop of chocolate cake batter casein

This is a must have in your clean eating diet.  This recipe is super easy and unbelievably satisfying in more ways than one.  It fulfills that craving you have for a decedent dessert just before bed and it keeps you satisfied throughout the night.

Let’s start by going over the benefits of chia seeds and why you should add them to your diet:

  1. Help weight loss. Chia seeds are popular for weight loss. They reduce food cravings by preventing some of the food that you eat from getting absorbed into your system. This blockage of calorie absorption makes them a great diet helper.
  2. Feel fuller faster: They can also help your diet by making you feel full. This is because they absorb 10 times their weight in water, forming a bulky gel.
  3. Hydration for athletes: They are also great for athletes because the “chia gel” can hydrate the body.

Another great ingredient to add on days you’ve trained is Casein.  Casein is a slow digesting protein.   Casien proteins are acid sensitive and thicken in the stomach making them able to provide a sustained slow release of amino acids into the blood stream, sometimes lasting for several hours.  Perfect for bedtime.
RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
blend banana & almond milk in a Vitamix or blender until smooth
in a small bowl, add chia seeds, cover with plastic wrap and let set for 20 minutes until seeds form gelatinous balls creating a pudding texture
* If you’re adding casein, blend at the same time you add chia seeds.  This will create a thicker pudding.
