I think it’s safe to say that Jamba Juice needs no introduction. Before the whole “juice craze” really was in effect, Jamba Juice stood alone. At least, that’s how I remember it. I can recount numerous times where I was in the city for a dance competition or convention and EVERYONE was talking about how delicious Jamba Juice was. I had to beg my parents for a few bucks to go grab one of the smoothies everyone was talking about.
Fast forward a few years later, and juice companies have popped up on every corner in NYC. My local supermarket even has a juice stand with someone making custom fresh-squeezed juices all day! I have to admit that I kind of ruled Jamba Juice out as a spot for me to stop and grab a refresher. I’d assumed that all the ingredients had preservatives or too many artificial flavors. However now, after a trip to NYC’s Bryant Park location and trying some of the new Cold-Pressed Juice flavors, I know that this isn’t true.
A noticeable change in Jamba Juice’s interior is how upscale it is compared to the last time I stepped foot all those years ago. Beautiful display, bright colors, open space..it has definitely become a spot that I wouldn’t mind stopping to have a seat and people watch on a nice Spring day. It’s nice to see that the company has kept up with demand in the “juice world” and has also worked to make the company better and stand out against the competitors.
Jamba Juice hasn’t sacrificed any nutritional value or flavors, but rather developed a new line of healthy, fresh, pale juices. These are bottled and ready to be taken on the go! This is one thing that I find super, super important for New Yorkers. We may be craving a juice, but we don’t have the time to stand in line and order from a menu. We’re busy bee’s, and need to be able to grab a juice from the cooler and be on our merry way. On-the-go is a DEFINITE plus.
Some delicious flavors I sampled included:
Orange Reviver – Oranges, Apples, Bananas, Beets
Citrus Kick: Oranges, Apples, Pineapple, Ginger
Tropical Greens: Apples, Pineapples, Super Greens
Veggie Harvest: Apples, Carrots, Beets Super Greens, Ginger
My favorite flavors are the ones with ginger, as I love the kick and freshness that Ginger adds to juices.
