Good Friday Morning! Jeez, usually work is so busy that I never know Friday is upon us. This week thanks to Sandy, mostly everyone doesn’t know it’s Friday, but Friday it is and our thoughts go out to everyone who’s feeling her aftermath.
So, I feel like I’ve been coming across some great new products lately and when something is good, you’ve gotta share, right? These products range from food, beauty, online shopping and all the way to monthly clubs. Today I’m sharing this week’s food finds. They may be new to you, they may not, either way I hope you try them and share some products you think we might be interested in.
I’ll admit, not all of these products are readily available, but I did a little research online and found that all these items can be purchased from their web pages.
First up; Justin’s Chocolate Hazelnut Butter. I know it’s not the first time you’ve seen Justin’s on here because Ava is a huge fan, but she has the benefit of living in Manhattan where most everything is readily available. Not so much so here. But luckily for us, Whole Foods is now carrying the brand. After reading all Ava’s hype, yes we do read each other’s posts I thought I’d give it a whirl. Crazy as it seems, I’m not a huge chocolate fan. I’m more of a salty chip eater, but not wanting to purchase another brand of one of my typical nut butters I opted for the chocolate hazelnut. What a great choice! It’s amazing! I’ve been topping my pre workout sprouted grain bagel with it and adding it to post workout shakes. I even topped my pumpkin protein waffles with it. No, I have not yet dipped into it with a spoon, but I do hear that comes without warning. If you’ve ever thought of having Nutella, well here you go, want no more. This is great addition to your nut butter family.
Kashi Pumpkin Spice Flax Crunchy Granola Bars. For me, anything pumpkin this time of year is a winner. I don’t usually buy granola bars, but I do realize that there are many times during my day where I can use a snack to get me through to my next meal. I found this at a local health food store last week and try as I might, I haven’t been able to find this flavor anyplace else. These bars have a nice texture and taste. They have certainly saved me on a few road trips this week. I will say, you need to have some water nearby. Not because they’re dry, more so because with all the seeds in them it’s good to wash them out of your teeth.
Kathie’s Kitchen SuperSeedz in Coco Joe. We found these at the Big E and turns out they’re right in our neighborhood. They’ve taken pumpkin seeds to a whole new level. The flavor is spot on. A great snack with no guilt. I usually eat these by the handful but I’ve also topped my cereal with them for a little indulgence. I have a few other favors, but I’ve yet to try them. I suspect if they’re anything like this one, they’ll also become a cabinet staple.
Spectrum Ground Premium Flax Seed with Mixed Berries. Hello?!?! How happy was I to see this? I’ll tell you, super happy! I don’t know about you, but I’m a flax seed junkie. I top everything I can with it. It’s a great way to keep your pipes clean, if you know what I mean There are many varieties of flax seeds on the market, but to me, Spectrum offers the most quality out there. The brand is a little bit more, but they always have coupons on their site and I stock up when they go on sale. This week they were on sale at Whole Foods, so mine they will be. But what was this? They added mixed berries i.e. super fruits! Can it be? My thoughts wander to the possibilities, baking and cereal to name a few. The sale was 2 for $10, so instead of buying one berry and one plain, I dove in with faith and purchased 2 with berries. I’m glad I did. This package didn’t disappoint. It’s now another new staple in my healthy arsenal.
As silly as it sounds, it makes me so happy to see new products that make leading a healthy lifestyle easy and enjoyable. Anyone who thinks that eating healthy means your food tastes like straw is sadly mistaken. I love food and I love enjoying my food. I do know though, that healthy eating can sometimes be costly, that’s why posts like these can hopefully help you make a more educated decision on your next grocery trip
