SO..I’ve seen a ton of bloggers do “What I ate Wednesday” posts throughout the years and I figured since I had a Wednesday off to do this, I may as well! On this particular hump day I kept it 100% clean. No snacks (as in, not putting a jug of peanut-butter filled pretzels to the face), just 5 well-balanced meals throughout the day. Black coffee in the a.m, 3 cups of green tea throughout the day, snuck in a 20 minute workout, had a glass of red wine with the girls, and I’ve gotta say – I’m feeling great!
Meal 1: 1 egg, 3 egg whites, 3 cups spinach, 1 piece cinnamon raisin Ezekial toast.
Meal 2: Post-Workout Shake: 1 banana, 1 scoop vanilla whey protein, cacao nibs, 4 or 5 cashews, shredded coconut, and lotttts o’ ice.
Meal 3: 3 cups spinach, chicken, grape tomatoes, beets, shelled edamame, olive oil, apple cider vinegar
While I ate my spinach salad, the step-bro was making loaded nachos in the toaster just like I used to as a kid. UM, that was a little difficult to be around, not going to lie. Hence the pleasant face above.
Meal 4: more grilled chicken, asparagus, grilled onions and peppers, 1 large sweet potato
Meal 5: My version of dessert for the day! 1 unsalted rice cake, cottage cheese w/ cinnamon, side of raspberries.
Eating 100% clean is ALWAYS difficult at first, even if you’ve been in the loop for the majority of your life like I have been. I get off track and then get back on, but I can tell you that nothing feels better than looking back on a day of food pics and seeing that I got it right!
