Is it Thursday already? Let me tell you, my days have been longer and longer this week and I suspect next week will be the same. We’re catering holiday parties from 6am to 12pm, yes it’s crazy but people are having 6:30am holiday breakfasts. That means me and my crew are in the shop by 4:30am. Yikes! Luckily, this week is all weekday parties so I can recoup on the weekend.
I’m sure you’ve all heard it before, but I’m going to give you a little friendly reminder of how to face your obstacles head on; plan, plan, plan! Here’s how I got my head in the game without guilt. I knew I wouldn’t be working out this week, so I reschedule my weekly Wednesday person training session to Saturday afternoon and upped the time from 30 minutes to an hour. I think I’m going to need it. Now that it’s almost here, I’m glad I took care of it at the beginning of the week, it’s giving me something to look forward to.
Most importantly, I’m keeping my diet clean. Just because I’m not exercising doesn’t mean it’s a free pass to eat whatever I want. That sounds odd, but you know we’ve all done it. We think to ourselves, well I’m not really on track now, so I’ll just start over next week. Why wait? Why make next week that much harder for yourself? Especially during the holidays when you’re probably snacking on things you would otherwise shun.
I know the only way to get through this week is to plan ahead. Sunday Chloe made muffin tin frittatas, I’ve been grabbing one every morning as I head out the door and not even heating it up, but it does the job. I pack my tea, an apple and some meal replacement bars. Thanks again to chef Klo for making stuffed peppers for dinner Monday night. I individually wrapped the leftovers and that’s been my lunch. Of course I’m out of that stuff now, but a quick overnight soaking oatmeal and I was off again today with no worries. I feel great and I’m super happy that I haven’t give in to temptation.
