That’s right. I’m a firm believer in that age old saying “It takes a village to raise a child”, but these days, the phrase “It takes a village” has a whole new meaning.
Everyone knows that Ava and I are the masterminds behind the blog. We do the blogging, marketing and all the fun stuff that comes with sharing our info with you, but did you know?…..It Takes A Village
Literally, we have Team FGD.
It all started a year ago with an idea I had about a blog over a great dinner with Mark. He was so receptive and supportive that I actually believed I could do it. I shared my vision with the rest of the family and Ava was soon on board. Now a team, we shared our vision with friends and extended family, wow the support was crazy. So crazy that we developed a “village” that’s been helping us pro bono while we build our brand. It’s been a learning process that’s for sure, but with every post, photo and video, it just gets better.
Last week when the Guess opportunity came our way, we had days to head to NYC and get a quick photo shoot in. This may not sound like a big deal, but when you need to coordinate your photographer, makeup artist, two bloggers and a boyfriend (Ali’s boyfriend Frank) because he’s the constructive critic, it’s not that easy. Oh and did I mention with the exception of Ava we all work together at Forks & Fingers? And quick means 2 hours of driving, 3 hours of prep and then finding a location – most of these shoots are day long excursions.
Well we did it. I love seeing the team all together, we’re a family. They’re in it for the long haul with us. The beauty is, they’re growing with us too.
We had a FGD family dinner at the UVA on the Upper East Side at the end of our NYC trip and it couldn’t have been any better. We splurged on salads, wine and cheese, even 2 small desserts shared among 6. Tasting is key, over indulgence, not so much. Ava and I are so grateful for all of the support we’ve received this year. This is my shout out post to them. You can’t steal them from us, but you can certainly use their services. We encourage you to use them. Their work on the blog speaks for itself.
They’re all building their own brands, so what better way to thank them than by showcasing them on the blog! With the exception of Frank, he’s got his sights on being a pro wrestler Not much I can do for that.
