Hey friends! So if you follow us on Instagram , you already know that we have seriously been loving up on Designer Whey lately.  I recently bought some DW protein powder at Fairway (remember this Grocery Finds post?) because I’d been hearing good things through fellow Fitfluential Ambassadors.  I wasn’t making crazy shakes with the powder; just 1 scoop Vanilla protein, 1 tbsp almond butter and the rest almond milk – but I was pleasantly surprised! Not the usual protein stink, no chalky taste..I could get used to this!

And then, just when I decided I was a fan, this beautiful package arrived!

Designer Whey galore! I was particularly happy because this was the night I was catching a flight to LA.  I had the Gourmet Chocolate shake in the cab, the Chocolate Caramel Crunch on the plane, and a packet of Protein 2 Go when I arrived.  Perfection! I am going to dub this my preferred traveling protein.

Some deets:

Powder: 1 Scoop of Designer Whey protein has only 100 calories, 18g protein, and 2 sugars.  I call this “Girly Protein”, and I mean that in the best sense possible.  I’ve come across a ton of women that don’t like adding protein to shakes for the fear of adding bulk.  This fear is understandable – if you’re going to add scoops of protein that have 30g each (Hello, we SO don’t need that much!).  But fear no more, at 100 calories and a healthy amount of protein for our lean bodies, this can easily be incorporated into your day!

Bars: Designer Whey’s protein bars are the real deal.  I’m not kidding.  If you’re not one for protein powder and I have to sell you on one thing here, it’s gotta be the bars.  With 160 calories and 10g protein, these guys are like heaven in a package.  So delicious and perfect for those moments you’re having a sweet tooth and need something to hold you over until your next meal.  If you see these, buy them! I promise you won’t regret it.

Protein 2 Go: 50 Calories, 10g protein, 1 sugar (Stevia!) Full of vitamins, I’ve used these small packets as a post-workout recovery drink, simply by tossing the powder in my water bottle and shaking it up a bit.  But you don’t have to use them as a post-workout!  Drink them before, during, or just when you need a little citrus-y boost.

Shakes: With the same nutrition facts as 1 scoop of the powder, these pre-packaged shakes are pretty darn tasty! If you’re a chocolate lover like myself, the Gourmet Chocolate Shake is for you.  If you’re a vanilla fan, the French Vanilla reminded me of my childhood obsession with Tapioca pudding.  Mmmm.
