Hey guys. So I just realized that neither of us has posted since last Friday. Hello, SLACKER CITY. We suck, we really do. And I apologize. Either we’re both on our game or neither of us is on our game, apparently.
Tomorrow is a big day for me! I’m getting surgery on my nose. Most of it is fixing my deviated septum (can’t wait to breathe through both nostrils) and the “cosmetic” part is actually straightening my nose. My nose has been crooked for as long as I can remember and I am just so nervous/anxious/excited to fix it. I will for sure be in a lot of pain for a few days – but I’ve taken quite a bit of time off of work and can’t wait to just chiiiillll and recover (in my bathing suit, no less) for a few days.
The frightening news here: I can’t work out for three weeks. As someone that works out 3-4 times a week (admittedly less in the summertime), this is a very scary thought. What this means for me is that I have to develop some damn will power. For a few days I will be in too much pain and too out of it to consume real foods, but the two weeks after that..? Ummm, stay AWAY from french fries and chocolate, Ava. My worst fear is that I will gain weight from not working out. In reality, all I have to do is eat clean 100% of the time. Abs are made in the kitchen, as we all know. Three weeks may feel like a long time, and I’m sure I will notice a difference in muscle tone – but if I keep my eating in check then I will be able to bounce back in no time. Heeeeeere’s hoping.
Some tips for staying slim in the summer:
1. Drink water. All day, every day. You know this already, and it may seem obvious. But most of us do not drink the recommended daily intake. Some rules I set for myself are to always have a 8oz glass of water before my morning coffee, and always have water before bed. I hardly ever get headaches, and I’m pretty sure this is thanks to being hydrated.
2. Work out OUTSIDE. Sure, you may not make it to the gym that often in the summertime, but that doesn’t mean you can’t and aren’t working out. Play beach volleyball, go for a swim. These things count as workouts. Great ones, in fact.
3. Eat some fruit, LOTS of veggies, and stay away from processed, fried, and refined foods. Your body will thank you, inside and out.
Wish me luck on my surgery! Don’t worry, Fashion Friday post will be ready for ya
