Morning my fit friends.  Today I pose to you, do you medspa?  By medspa I mean, what do you do to maintain your healthy youthful appearance and how do you feel about a little help from science?  Personally, I feel like we do everything we can to keep our bodies healthy and fit from the inside out, so why not a little help?  Not a flatter pic, I know, but I wanted you to see what I see.

This comes about because I’ve recently been considering Botox for the wrinkles so magically appearing around my eyes, and low and behold, there’s a living social deal from my Medspa.  So I’m going to take the plunge.  I can’t justify making the appointment and paying full price, but I can certainly live with a great deal.

Personally, I’ve had microdermabrasion and given it to Ava as a gift.  I didn’t see much of a visible result, so the esthetician recommended a chemical peel.  I was a bit nervous, but I scheduled it a few weeks later.  We did the peel, and again, I didn’t get the expected result.  We scheduled another appointment after a vacation that left me with sun spots in my hairline, yep missed by the sunscreen.  This time she applied it a bit thicker, whoa, did it work!  My face peeled like Goldmember!  They weren’t kidding that you shouldn’t make plans for the week in a visibly public place.  Five days after the peel, I entered my local Kennedy & Perkins to pick out a new pair of glasses and had to leave after I got a glance of myself in the mirror.  I apologized to the associate and told her I would be back.  It was disgusting!  The results on the other hand were amazing.  No more sun spots and my skin glowed for weeks.  I’m sure this is a maintenance thing, but it’s also costly to do on the reg.

It’s been a year since I’ve done anything other than a facial.  I’m taking the plunge today by purchasing the Botox and the chemical peels.  I’ll take you on my journey of before and after.

What are your thoughts?  Do you get a little help or do you prefer to keep it natural?
