My first Fashion Friday post, I feel like these are some big shoes to fill!

Last week Ava & I were invited to The Gap Styld.by Kendi event in their Lincoln Square store.  I’m super excited to tell you, I was very impressed.  I have to be honest, I really haven’t shopped at The Gap in 10 years.  For me, I think it was indicative of Baby Gap and my preppy phase.  I have to tell you, WE ALL shopped at The Gap.  I wish I still had this photo, but there was one day when I met up with 3 friends and we all had on the same shirt in different colors!  I kid you not.  I think that was the breakup of our relationship.

But, like any old friend you meet again, you realize what attracted you to them in the first place.  The Gap has won me over with their simplistic chic.  They have certainly evolved with the times.  From weekend wear to work wear, they have it covered.

The collaboration between The Gap and style blogger Kendi is genius.  What better way to connect with your customers than by using someone just like them.  Okay, everyone might not blog, but upon meeting Kendi, you find she’s just like us.  As she says, she’s just a girl looking staring at her closet trying to figure out what to wear. I don’t know about you, but seeing J-Lo sell clothes doesn’t make me want to run out and buy them.

The event featured 3 looks put together by Kendi, a makeup application by some fab artists from Bare Minerals, a chance to speak with Kendi and the coordinators of the event, a dj, food, wine and of course, clothes.  I took advantage of it all.  Everyone I spoke with was inviting, informative and supportive of the blogging community.  I boldly rocked red lips compliments of Bare Minerals and purchased a few items that I think can be multi taskers in my wardrobe.

The reunion was a success!  I walked out with a gorgeous poppy colored blazer, 2 pairs of jeans, a sweater, a button up and a t-shirt.  All of these pieces work really well together, I can easily get a dozen looks out of them
