Hey all. Hope you’re enjoying a beautiful Wednesday!
I am bed-ridden right now with a nasty cold that has hit me after a weekend of filming, beaching, and then partying in the Hamptons. I know, I know, my life sounds TOUGH. I did this to myself, though. I knew this would happen because I did not take care of myself this past weekend. Filming for hours on end with nothing more in my stomach than a protein bar – BAD. Working an event where I had time only to scarf down a small plate of greasy, cheesy pasta – BAD. Going out after and drinking Corona Lights (I have given up beer for months now) until 3 in the morning – BAD. I had the time of my life, don’t get me wrong. More fun than I’ve had in quite some time. But I was dehydrating my body, not fueling it with its usual balanced meals every 2-3 hours, and not getting nearly enough sleep.
I prepared somewhat for my weekend getaway, bringing my vitamins, oatmeal, protein powder and protein bars. But those will only take you so far. Next time I go away for a weekend I know to DEMAND that we go to a grocery store first!
I haven’t been to the gym in a week, and I’m hoping that one more annoying, useless day in bed will have me back on track for my workouts and eating schedule tomorrow.
Anyway, on to the point of today’s post..
Have you guys heard of Apple Cider Vinegar? It’s been bouncing around the blogosphere and internet for many years, however most have either not caught on to it, or have just been hesitant to try.
2 Tablespoons of this raw, organic, disgusting-tasting but oh-so-good-for-you vinegar in your morning water will do the following;
Work as a Detox
Help with digestion of food
Provide a boost of energy
Helps maintain blood sugar and PH levels
Regulates blood pressure and reduce bad cholesterol
clear up skin and help blemishes (this is a biggie for me)
*Look out for Bragg’s brand, as it contains “The Mother” of the vinegar. The mother is made up of strand like enzymes of connected protein molecules with living nutrients and bacteria. The mother can also be found in Kombucha, which everyone seems to love so much!
While I’m sick in bed today, I know what I’ll be drinking in efforts to restart my system – ACV! Look out for it at Whole Foods or any health foods store, and let us know what you think about what it does to your body (we already know you won’t like the taste but hey, pain is beauty)
