Hello my lady friends! Hope you’re gearing up for another hot, humid Sunday -_-

I am extremely excited to be reporting to you from my beautiful new Tiffany-Blue-Clad Mac.

Now, to kick off your day, how about an anti-aging smoothie? I picked up this delicious yet simple recipe from an article in Health Magazine; It was showcasing Bobbi Brown’s tips for how to keep us looking young and fresh-ta-death.  FYI she didn’t put it in those terms.

In a blender,

3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1/3 cup frozen chopped kale, 3 TBSP choc protein powder, 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract, 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon, 6 pitted cherries and 6 ice cubes.  Recipe makes 2 servings.  Sharing is caring.

Under a hundred calories and those cherries I am obsessed with are loaded with antioxidants.  Drink up! I’m having one as I create this post – Check my Instagram if you don’t believe me!

Side note: Reading this article made me think of two things:

1) Hangin with Bobbi Brown at Sak’s for NYC’s First Fashion’s Night Out.  I was 19 years old and had just moved to the city.  To think of the amazing experiences I’ve been exposed to since then is just UNREAL.  She also told me she liked my necklace that night ;) .  And that’s Amanda, one of my best friends for life (ha don’tcha love me for this pic?!)

2.  The fact that I’m in my early twenties and am concerned with anti-aging! But ya know what ladies, we have to be.  I’m actually pretty damn proud of myself.  Once upon a time my biggest prioirity was laying on the beach any second I had free – which was completely do-able as I grew up 3 minute away from one.  Now that I am an adult I think to myself – Did I REALLY used to have all the time in the world to work on a tan? Yes.  Did I REALLY think I was invincible and would never see the effects of aging? Yes.  Now I never leave my apt without SPF30, because tan lines may fade my friends, but those leathery lines I may see in 10 years will not!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For my dinner last night, and your lunch today….The Summer Salad!

Arugula, Strawberries, Honey Goat Cheese, Shaved Almonds, and a dressing I made by combining fresh squeezed lemon, avacado oil, balsamic vinegar, and a pinch of pepper.  Accompanied by my ever-present Perrier water :)

And LASTLY for today Guys and Gals,

DESSERT: Skinny Cow chocolate&peanut butter cookie sandwich.  I swear by Skinny Cow..the first time I opened a package I thought “WTF! THIS QUALIFIES AS DESSERT?!” Turns out, it’s the perfect portion..and so, so delicious you’ll never know each flavor is under 150 cals.

Whew, OK, I’m done.  Time for me to slap on a smile and sling drinks behind the bar.  See ya next time! Stay cool, fool.
