Good Morning! I feel like we have so much to share with you this morning. We have great recipes for your face, hair and of course, food.
Let me tell you how this all started. We all know I’m a sucker for online shopping, I was making a purchase from my most recent Birchbox of Bulgari perfume when I saw a suggestion for a facial mask. Well, for some reason mine and Chloe’s faces have been breaking out like mad lately, so when I saw the mask “my face needs to heal” I thought it would be a great at home alternative to an expensive spa day together. The box came on Wednesday with 5 masks. Perfect. One for me, Ava, Chloe, Ali and her mom Tina. Then, I ran into my friend Michelle on Friday evening, of course I invited her and her daughters, the more the merrier. In the meantime, Ali the glam girl, did some research on hair masks and facial masks with food products. Funny, this is starting to take on a life of it’s own.
On Friday, Ali tells me that she bought matching pj’s for herself and her mom. I love the idea so, I’m going to squeeze in a mall trip on Saturday. Saturday, work starts at 5am. In between functions, I run into Victoria’s Secret at the local mall. I find some cute pajamas, but they’re missing one of the sizes. I don’t make the purchase, because I really have to get back to work and 2 out of 3 just doesn’t cut it. Knowing that I don’t have enough face masks, I plan to head to another mall that has a Sephora to up my stock at the end of the day. Lightbulb moment, I call the VS where Sephora is and they have the sizes I need. Yes, with them pulled and behind the register, that saves me time.
Okay, it’s now 8pm, workday complete, I head to the other mall. We planned on watching the last season of American Horror Story, so when the sales girl at Sephora suggests a mask by Boscia that looks like black rubber, I was all over it! If you’ve seen the series, you know why I chose it. If you haven’t seen it yet, I don’t want to give it away With a face wash suitable for all skin types and a rubber mask, I realize I should get some spa headbands for everyone. It’s off to Target and Whole Foods for snacks. Man, I haven’t even given the food a thought. I’m so tired. All I can think of right now is Nachos and Chicken Soup, weird huh?
Ah, Sunday morning, with a little bit of sleep under my belt I can think more clearly. Now I have a menu in mind. Grilled pizzas, nachos, kale chips, veggies with Chobani dip, roasted chick peas, pumpkin bread and chicken soup. For beverages, pumpkintini’s, Skinny Girl White Peach margaritas, pumpkin wine and prosecco.
Gotta love Ava, she’s such a trooper. I probably make her come home more often than I should, but some of the things we do just wouldn’t be the same without her. My girl comes in on a 7:30am train after getting off a 6am bar shift. That’s Love! It also gets me up and about early. I’ve got a lot to do and the spa opens at 4:00
Ha, here we go, I’m out doing my shopping and low and behold, there are the most fluffy white towels staring at me in Sams club. Spa’s have white towels, I must have them. This is awesome, I’m really getting excited.
With a little help from my boy Marky, I manage to get all food done by 3:45
It’s spa time! Thank you Pandora for having every radio station possible, yes there is a spa station. Inspired, I decided to put out my clarisonic, a lighted magnifying mirror andall the sample moisturizers and hair products I’ve gotten in my Birchboxes and Glambags. I can’t think of a better way to sample them.
I had the best night ever! Believe it or not, I’ve never had a true girls night. It was so nice to see all the mom’s spending time with their daughters. Chloe and Ali made the face mask, a hair mask and a toner. We all pitched in applying masks, washing hair and oh yes, popping zits with the extractor Ali brought.
I wish I took more pictures, but I was so busy having fun and drinking wine. Here’s some of the fun. I’ll post all the recipes tomorrow. Gotta get ready for a day of apple picking!
Have you had a spa night? What did you do? I think we’re going to try to make this a monthly thing, so we’d love to hear your at home spa tips.
